New Study Demonstrates a Growing Trend in Pediatric Medical Device Clinical Trials

A study, available on MedRxiv, assessed the state of pediatric medical device (PMD) development by comparing PMD clinical trials to pediatric trials, at seven leading pediatric hospitals, evaluating drugs and biologics, from 1999-2022.  Results showed that the number of PMD clinical trials, at these institutions significantly lagged behind the number of drug and biologic trials.  However, there was a significant increase in the number of PMD clinical trials from 2014-2022.
